This is another post in our Velocity Partners colleague spotlight series of conversations. The idea is to sit down with some of my Velocity Partners colleagues and to “talk shop” a bit. Getting to know their projects, interests, backgrounds, etc.

In this installment, we spend a little time with German Garcia. He is a very busy software tester who comes to us from our Buenos Aires office. Listen in and get to know German.

Our conversation mostly surrounds his journey from Business Analyst to QA tester in his career. We have a wonderful discussion surrounding that road and what he thinks are the keys to effective  software testing. Not so much test automation or the technical aspects of software testing, but what are the critical skills for a manual/functional tester.

I enjoyed this discussion quite a bit because German’s views resonate with my own. They also align incredibly well with the agile testing mindset. Then we wrap things up by exploring a bit of his personal background. All-in-all, it was a really nice chat.
