This is another post in our Velocity Partners offshore software development company colleague spotlight series of conversations. The idea is to sit down with some of my Velocity Partners colleagues and to “talk shop” a bit. Getting to know their projects, interests, backgrounds, etc.

In this installment, we spend a little time with Matias Bauer. He is a very busy tester who comes to us from our Buenos Aires office. Listen in and get to know Matias.

Our conversation mostly surrounds his technical journey as he moved from developer to tester and test automation developers for our clients. Matias joined Velocity Partners about three years ago. For most of that time, he worked for our client BlueFly developing test automation leveraging Behavior Driven Development (BDD) techniques in JBehave and Selenium Webdriver.

Within the last six months, his role has changed and he’s joined a much larger set of teams that are providing testing support for Bloomberg. Much of our conversation revolves around aspects of BDD testing and his role as a QA Lead at Bloomberg.

I also want to point out that Matias had some things to say on the blog in this post about agile testing automation.  And finally, we also explore a bit of his personal background. All-in-all, it was a really nice chat.
