Nearshore Experiences Continue to be Successful
We’d like to share an extract from a front end developer’s account of his visit to our offices in Argentina.
Josh Hatcher is a front-end developer with OrderGroove, a New York-based SaaS, B2B company that offers a subscription commerce platform for e-commerce retail sites. The firm has been working with Velocity for two years using the nearshore model. Josh traveled recently to Rosario, Argentina, to work side by side with the team of local developers – a common practice for us.
“It was a joy to be in the Velocity Partners office in Rosario and to work in the same room with the talented developers I’ve known from a continent away for so long, he said. “The OrderGroove team had our own section, but the open nature of the office and the friendliness of the other teams made it relatively easy to interact with other people throughout the day. The lunch/break area was especially helpful for this (as well as supplying me with all the mate I could drink). Being in Rosario – and Argentina in general – for a significant period of time really helped me practice my Spanish, and the team was patient with me as I stumbled over my words over the course of the first couple of days. I hope to return to Rosario to work with the team at Velocity again sometime soon. In the meantime, I know my counterparts down south will continue to do great work, and I’ll see them online.
